Some photographers make a goal to post something on their blog every day for a week/month/year. I am going to make a goal to post something on my blog for each of the 12 days of Christmas! Yipee!!
[moments later] Ok I just looked it up and the 12 days of Christmas actually start ON December 25th. Oh well, I'll just post something every day until Christmas, or at least I'll try to! Here goes day ONE... On the 1st day of Christmas my true love gave to me: a yawning baby!

Baby D's Debut! You may recall meeting my friend aka one of the cutest pregnant women ever, on my blog a couple of months ago. This little guy was who we were waiting to meet. He's adorably mellow and I could not get enough of him!! This shot shows a biiig yawn. It's also prompting me to hit the hay and call it a day!

Holiday Shoot @ La Jolla Cove

Bridy & Nicole brought their families out to La Jolla Cove recently for a holiday shoot. The crashing waves made for some fun backdrops. Bridy had a great idea of getting a Santa hat for her baby but since it was as big as she was, we just put her IN the hat- TOO CUTE! Thanks for being so easy to work with, going along with my ideas and even offering some of your own! It was a fun day! Here is a look at some of the shots...

Sophia Turns 30!!

It's always a fun time when friends and families get together, especially to celebrate a birthday! This was an extra special birthday for Sophia because she turned 30!! The party reflected the birthday girl in many ways. We enjoyed gluten-free cupcakes, awesome tacos made with home made tortillas, and even a margarita machine!!! It was a great time, and there tons of adorable kids for me to photograph!!

I am excited to share the images from my shoot with this sweet 1 month old and her family. As soon as I walked in their home I felt the love these parents have for their little girl. It was touching to see the connection each parent had with baby V. I don't know what could be more fun than using my camera to memorialize the love a family has for each other. Thanks O family!!

This month I got to visit my best friend on the opposite side of the country. I also got to meet her new little man, who was such a well behaved baby. He was mellow and easy to take around town shopping, site seeing, or out to lunch. I miss them already and can't wait to see them again!!

Photographing newborns can be interesting. Even though all the babies are fed before we begin the shoot, some don't want to go along with my silly ideas, poses, and apparel. I am never quite sure what mood these babies will be in before I arrive, and the mystery is an exciting part of the experience. No matter what mood, we always get some expressive and fun photos.
Baby D's shoot was a blast! He slept through almost the entire thing! Even when I thought I was pushing my luck, his eyes stayed closed, letting me shoot away. I was rather amazed with his patience and tolerance. Thanks for a great shoot B family!

The sneak preview of Baby B might have given you the impression that she's a screamer. In actuality she was a pretty calm little baby. The few times she did get fussy was most likely my fault for putting silly hats on her in middle of summer! Luckily her fantastic parents have a knack for calming the little lady down and we got some cute shots where she looks peaceful and sleepy.

Good Times at The San Diego County Fair

The San Diego County Fair is officially over. I managed to find time to go to the fair during it's last weekend in town. Taking photos at the fair was almost overstimulating! There was so much going on I had a hard time figuring out what I wanted to photograph! That isn't necessarily a bad thing though. :)

I've always loved the photobooths. I want to own one!!

Kellen's Graduation Weekend

I am blessed to have a great family of in-laws and when we all get together we make some fun memories. Last month my youngest brother-in-law graduated from college. We traveled north for a weekend celebration at Rancho Oso followed by the graduation ceremony at UCSB. Congrats, Kellen! We are so proud of you!!

Groundhog Day

Last September my sisters and I flew to Pennsylvania to visit our grandmother and uncle. One afternoon we all took a drive to Punxsutawney! Since today is Groundhog Day I thought it was fitting to include some photos of our time in Groundhog Town.

They take groundhogs seriously in this town. Even restaurants had groundhogs in the tile!

We found a Punxsutawney Phil statue in the park.

Then we realized they have groundhogs all over town! Take a look...

Unfortunately for people in PA, Phil saw his shadow so they have 6 more weeks of winter.

Have fun with that. We may not have Superbowl champions out here in San Diego, but we have summer weather in February!!!

We finally took our Christmas tree down today. Even though the holidays were over it was nice seeing our tree lit up every morning and every evening. We kind of miss it now that it's gone. That part of the room looks so empty. I felt like we were the last people to put away the Christmas decor until I was walking through Balboa Park and I saw this:

My new camera arrived Wednesday. I've been dying to use it but I have not had free time during the day to experiment with it. I've been forced to try to shoot pictures of the cat...again. But without her I would be taking pictures of random things around the house so I am appreciative that we have a cat, and one that does not run away from when when I stick a camera in her face. Stay tuned to this blog in the coming weeks. I hope to post some new pictures of things besides Pita the cat!
